Locanto Redesign
User Research · Heuristic Evaluation · Usability Testing · Wireframing · Accessibility Audit · Figma
Overview
The Locanto Redesign aimed to improve usability and trust on an existing classifieds website. The project emphasized evaluating user pain points through research and applying design strategies that enhance navigation, readability, and accessibility.
Approach
The process included a heuristic evaluation, user interviews, persona creation, and usability testing. Research revealed issues with cluttered navigation, inconsistent visual hierarchy, and poor content legibility. Using findings from surveys and test results, I developed wireframes and prototypes emphasizing simplicity and clarity.
Results
The redesigned interface features streamlined categories, accessible color contrast, and consistent typography. Navigation was reorganized using card sorting insights, and layout grids improved readability. Iterative usability testing validated design decisions and reduced cognitive load.
Learnings
This project reinforced the importance of evidence-based design. Conducting usability tests helped me see how real users interpret design patterns. I learned to balance analytical data with creative iteration to produce measurable usability improvements.
