Overview

The Icon Microsite was designed to explore how visual systems communicate meaning through structure, color, and motion. The goal was to create a cohesive, responsive microsite that presents a consistent icon set and clear narrative about visual identity. My role covered end-to-end UX and UI design—from research to final prototype.

Approach

I analyzed existing icon libraries and responsive layouts to define usability patterns. Using semiotic principles and design heuristics, I experimented with how icon form and spacing affect recognition. Guided by the Aesthetic–Usability Effect and Fitts’s Law, I refined hierarchy, contrast, and motion for clarity. Iterative critiques helped validate accessibility and rhythm across screens.

Results

The final design showcases an interactive gallery-style microsite, emphasizing consistent visual weight, flexible grid structure, and accessible contrast levels. Each icon has an intentional role in guiding attention and building brand tone.

Learnings

This project taught me to merge visual storytelling with UX functionality. I learned how micro-interactions and subtle animation create delight without distracting usability. It also strengthened my understanding of accessibility, especially color contrast and icon scalability.
